Jae K. Oh, M.D. is a cardiologist with a special interest in echocardiography, multimodality imaging and structural heart diseases including pericardial diseases and valvular heart diseases for his clinical practice, research and education. His clinical focus includes:
In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Oh runs the Echocardiography Core Laboratory for clinical trials and has been involved in more than 30 trials including STICH (with an NIH UO1 grant), Heart Failure Network trials (NIH), transcatheter aortic and mitral valve replacement trials (industry sponsored), and pulmonary AV malformation in liver disease trials (NIH). Dr. Oh belongs to the executive and scientific committees of those trials. He continues to perform clinical investigations related to pericardial diseases, valvular heart diseases, diastolic function and echocardiography with 450 peer-reviewed papers as of November 2017 and h-index of 87. Dr. Oh is the principal author of "The Echo Manual," which has become a standard textbook for all who are interested in learning echocardiography. Now in its third edition, "The Echo Manual" has been translated into six languages and the fourth edition is in progress. Dr. Oh enjoys teaching at various national and international meetings. His favorite teaching is daily contact with residents, fellows and younger physicians, since he also learns a lot from them. He also enjoys the "Non-invasive Hemodynamic" teaching session with trainees on Monday mornings. Dr. Oh is currently the President of the Asian-Pacific Association of Echocardiography and is organizing the International Consortium for Pericardial Diseases. |
